No nukes?

How, then, will Israel be able to stand up to its Muslim neighbors who deny even its right to exist, such as, er, Iran?

How can the US with only a volunteer force hope to effectively aid Japan or Korea against potentially much superior conventional forces?

Or has everyone forgotten why the US refused to renounce first use of nukes in Europe, in the days when NATO stood toe-to-toe with the Warsaw Pact?

Or that in those day the professional left insisted on such a renunciation, and on an end to nukes all over the world?

Of course, in a truly nuke free world we would be fine if we minded our own business and cancelled all military commitments and ambitions outside the Western Hemisphere.

But how does one verify such a thing?

I have repeatedly urged the US cut its forces and withdraw them to America north of the equator.

But I have not urged nuclear disarmament and think it would be unsafe and foolish.
