On the other hand, the complaint is common that the Republican
Party and American conservatives do their best to systematically discourage Democratic
voters from showing up, and also to make it much easier for suburban constituencies,
less laden with Democrats, to vote.
But how is it their doing?
Have any of the complainers explained how polls get
organized and staffed, and who is responsible for that?
What if it’s all about local volunteers and there just aren’t
enough people willing and able to do the job in those urban neighborhoods?
What is the story, really, anyway?
Pending an explanation, I wouldn’t take all that liberal
whining too seriously.
Just another aspect of their endless propaganda about white
racism in the Republican Party, conservative movement, and United States of
America.
Full disclosure: I live in a mostly white ‘burb and we never
wait that long in line; the last couple of times it was no more than 10
minutes, as I recall.
And it’s a blue ‘burb, at that.
On the other hand, no matter where the fault lies,
wouldn’t it be better if the organization and conduct of elections were a
federal responsibility?
Nobody should have to wait around anywhere near that long.
And the elderly or those with relevant disabilities ought not to have to stand around, waiting, at all.
Nobody should have to wait around anywhere near that long.
And the elderly or those with relevant disabilities ought not to have to stand around, waiting, at all.
Hey, too bad about that silly 18th Century
constitution, America.
