Obama: We Will Shape An International Order That Works For Our People
Not even trying to sound like Bernie, much less Trump.
President Obama touted the benefits of globalism in a joint press conference Wednesday with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto.
Obama said "protectionism or anti-trade arguments" are prescriptions that will not work and promised the "international order" will help those who have been neglected by free trade.
The president holds the TPP deal will increase American exports and bolster fair trade controls on our trading partners.
Already a devotee of the fair trade restrictions Bernie calls for, he has not like Hillary adopted the merely rhetorical economic nationalism of Bernie Sanders, much less the real thing comprising high tariffs, import quotas, and bans urged by Donald Trump.
