What Will They Do Now? O’care Repeal Bill Gives Moderates Nowhere To Hide
They are in no way moderate, but what they are willing to be seen espousing or doing is moderated by the fact that they need to be re-elected in states that are just not all that red.
They protested they could not go for the earlier version of the bill because of its huge cuts to Medicaid, its abandonment of the requirement that private policies cover all essential services (the ban on "junk policies"), and its abandonment of the requirements that pre-existing conditions be covered and persons with them not be excluded from coverage.
The bill unveiled Friday still had all those features.
The only changes were further concessions to the party's right wing radicalism.
