No calorie advantage

The impossible burger from Impossible Foods is entirely meat free and vegan OK, and producing its raw materials involves a whole lot less of a carbon footprint and agricultural resource use than producing the equivalent quantity of beef.

This meat substitute delivers 220 calories in 85 grams ( ~ 3 ounces).

About 230 calories are in 3 ounces of 80 / 20 hamburger, some of which will not make it into your sandwich after you cook it, anyway, staying with whatever fat remains in the pan.

On MSNBC, the burger producer just explained it's priced about the same as hamburger at the grocery store.
