Seeing and seeing as

When we notice it the imagination has already been at work.

We don’t experience the visual field as a multi-colored plane perpendicular to the line of vision.

Of course, if we did, that would also be the work of the imagination.

We see the visual field as a surrounding space filled with bodies that move and turn in various ways.

Our own body most certainly included, providing the viewpoint, moving and turning at our will, ourselves and it persisting through these changes, on the whole spectacle.

Or so it appears.

We experience it all as if it were that.
